Montessori International College (MIC) is a unique early learning service unlike anything you’ve seen. Set within 22 beautiful hectares of natural bushland and rainforest at Forest Glen, Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

Our Early Years team is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Teacher for who believes in the development of the whole child. Montessori experience is desirable, but not essential.

The right person for this role will have an early childhood teaching degree and be excited by the prospect of joining a team committed to leading the way in best practice.

About the role

This role will be working in a Montessori classroom of 3-5 year olds, with an Early Childhood Educator in a collaborative partnership.

The candidate best suited to this role will demonstrate the capacity to:

  • Participate in a Montessori Early Years program.
  • Work within a team of Early Years Guides and educators, providing an exciting and meaningful program for children aged 3-6.
  • Commit to consistently participating in professional development, critical reflection and leading the way in early childhood education.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum Early Childhood Teaching Degree, with experience working in an early years setting.
  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma CPR certificate
  • Current Blue Card
  • Experience working with children aged 3-6
  • A love of the outdoors, gardening and nature
  • Knowledge of Montessori Philosophy or a desire to delve into it - a Montessori 3-6 Diploma would be ideal
  • An understanding of nature based play or possible experience in the area
