Supporting Diverse Learners – A Journey of Inclusion

This must-attend workshop will discuss how a Children’s House approaches inclusion and achieves inspiring results. The presenters will discuss the process of developing an inclusive culture, including conversations with the staff, parents and community, the courage to bring about cultural change, and the collaborations with allied health professionals, such as Occupational and Speech Therapists. There will be a discussion on the importance of professional development for all educators.

This practical workshop will also present strategies to support children with diverse needs, and demonstrate materials to use in the classrooms. The speakers will also share where to purchase unique resources, and the workshops and courses to attend in order to support the many different learners in your environment.  

Key learnings: 

  • A Montessori early learning centre’s inclusion journey provide an insightful case study.
  • Appreciate the importance of collaborating with therapists: speech therapists; occupational therapists; music therapists and physio therapists.
  • Source materials and implement strategies that will support children’s learning.
  • Ensure professional development for all educators to help diverse learners.

This workshop will benefit anyone who works with children 2-5 years.
