Teachers Supporting Teachers Mentoring Group

Montessori Australia presents the Teachers Supporting Teachers (TST) Zoom group, aimed at providing community and mentoring for both experienced and new teachers alike. The mentoring group is facilitated by experienced Montessori guides from each plane of development (0 to 18 years).

The first aim of TST is to promote networking and build a sense of community nationwide among teachers of all levels. The 1 hour meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday evenings of each month. This is a free service and teachers do not have to sign up in advance. Teachers are encouraged to join each session at the start for introductions and can stay on as long as they are available or interested in wherever the conversations flow.  Feel free to come along on any of the dates below.

The second aim of the TST is to provide a forum where teachers can share wisdom with one another about classroom issues that may arise in their daily practice. When “experts” deliver workshops there’s not always time or space to ask questions about little things that scratch at us but for which we have difficulty thinking about well. Sometimes it really helps to get a diversity of suggestions from our peers for those day-to-day problems that were not addressed directly in training. TST is a space where teachers will be able to think through problems aided by those who are in situations like theirs. Many problems are shared by teachers at all levels, but when issues are raised of interest to a specific subgroup then the meeting may splinter into different Zoom rooms.
